Abstract:
The overcurrent protection device according to various embodiments of the present disclosure, as an overcurrent protection device for a power supply device, may comprise an inductor, a first switch, a second switch, a feedback control unit, a pulse width modulation (PWM) control unit, and an overcurrent protection control unit. The inductor may be connected to an input terminal of a power supply device to which a current is input from a power supply unit of the power supply device. The first switch may be connected between an output terminal of the inductor and a ground. The second switch may be connected between the output terminal of the inductor and an output terminal of the power supply device. The feedback control unit may compare an output voltage of the power supply device with an output voltage target value, and generate a control voltage on the basis of a comparison result of the output voltage and the output voltage target value. The PWM control unit controls ON and OFF of the first switch and the second switch, and controls the peak current of the first switch on the basis of the control voltage. The overcurrent protection control unit comprises a timing capacitor for charging an electrical charge with a current source proportional to the control voltage, and may generate an overcurrent control signal for driving of the PWM control unit on the basis of the control voltage. The overcurrent protection control unit may charge the timing capacitor with the current source during a first switching period in which the second switch is turned on. The operation of the power supply device may be stopped on the basis of the overcurrent control signal when the output current exceeds a predetermined level regardless of the input voltage from the power supply unit.
