Title:
OZONE DETECTING ELEMENT
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2008/056513
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A vessel (102) containing a detection solution (101) is provided. The detection solution (101) is an aqueous solution containing a detection component, a humectant, and a hydrophilic group-containing ultraviolet light absorbing agent dissolved therein. The detection component contains a coloring matter which, upon a reaction with ozone gas, undergoes a change in color. Next, a sheet-shaped carrier (103) is provided and is immersed in the detection solution (101), for example, for 30 sec, to impregnate the sheet-shaped carrier (103) with the detection solution (101) to form an impregnated sheet (104). The impregnated sheet (104) is then dried to evaporate and remove the solvent (solute) such as water impregnated in the impregnated sheet (104), whereby a sheet-shaped ozone detecting element (105) is formed.
