Abstract:
A process for synthesizing a $g(b)-lactam in water at a high temperature under a high pressure; and a process for producing a $g(b)-lactam. Namely, a process for synthesizing a ß-lactam characterized by reacting a$g(b)-amino acid in water at a high temperature under a high pressure, wherein the $g(b)-lactam is synthesized at a high rate by cyclizing the $g(b)-amino acid in water at a high temperature of 200 °C or more under a high pressure of 10 Mpa or more; and a process for producing a $g(b)-lactam characterized by synthesizing the $g(b)-lactam by reacting a $g(b)-amino acid in water at a high temperature under a high pressure and then separating and purifying the $g(b)-lactam with the use of a column separating agent.
