Abstract:
Provided is a promoter having high foreign gene expression enhancement activity in a host cell such as a mammalian cultured cell. As a means for increasing the production amount of a foreign protein to be used as a proteinaceous pharmaceutical product by using said promoter, provided is a polynucleotide which is a promoter of a gene derived from a Chinese hamster, and contains: a nucleotide sequence that is selected from among SEQ ID NO: 1, SEQ ID NO: 3, SEQ ID NO: 4, SEQ ID NO: 10, SEQ ID NO: 11, SEQ ID NO: 12, SEQ ID NO: 13, and SEQ ID NO: 14, or shares a sequence identity of at least 85% with the sequences thereof; or a partial sequence of said nucleotide sequence.
