Abstract:
The present invention achieves a hard coating, etc., exhibiting stable, high performance under a wide range of processing conditions. A hard coating (12) has a structure obtained by alternately laminating A layers (A1 to An) comprising AlxCr1-xN and B layers (B1 to Bn) comprising Ti1-ySinN, wherein, if a combination of one set of the A layer and the B layer, laminated alternately, is defined as a C layer (C1 to Cn), a thickness of the C layer is at least equal to 7 nm and at most equal to 18 nm, the total thickness of the C layers is at least equal to 1 μm and at most equal to 6 μm, and thicknesses of the A layer and the B layer are each less than 10 nm. (Here, x is at least equal to 0.6 and at most equal to 0.7, and y is greater than 0.05 and less than 0.08.)
