Abstract:
The present invention is configured so that moiré suppression processing or the like is not performed in sections where moiré suppression processing is not required. Speech balloon areas and text areas are detected from a high-resolution master page image (Step 22). Moiré suppression processing and pixel number reduction processing are performed in the section of the image that does not include the detected areas in order to obtain first image section data (Step 23). Pixel number reduction processing is performed in the section of the image present in the detected areas without performing moiré suppression processing in order to obtain second image section data (Step 24). A low-resolution page image is generated from the first image section data and the second image section data (Step 25).
