Abstract:
The present invention relates to the communication field, and discloses a method
for redirecting pages and a WAP gateway, which reduce the time delay the terminal
experiences when acquiring pages. In the present invention, when receiving
the page request from the user terminal, the WAP gateway requests the page requested
by the user terminal from the service provider; and thereafter if the page returned
by the service provider matches the page redirection criteria, the WAP gateway
performs the page redirection, and returns the page obtained after redirection
to the user terminal. The page redirection criterion is that the page contains
the redirection serial status codes suggesting that a redirection is needed,
or the page contains the onenterforward mark. The WAP gateway retains the Cookie
information included in the page returned by the service provider.
