Abstract:

A pair of sliding components is provided which can suppress wear between the sliding surfaces from the start of relative rotation to high-speed rotation, and which can prevent leakage of a sealed fluid.　On the sliding surface 21 of a second sliding component 20, multiple second positive pressure generating grooves 24 are provided which communicate with a leak-side space S1, extend in the direction of relative rotation of the second sliding component 10 and have a closed end 24B; on the sliding surface 11 of a first sliding component 10, multiple first positive pressure generating grooves 14 are provided which communicate with the leak-side space S1, extend in the direction of relative rotation of the second sliding component 20 and have a closed end 14B; the sliding surface 11 and the sliding surface 21 slide intersecting each other such that at least part of the first positive pressure generating grooves 14 and the second positive pressure generating grooves 24 overlap.
