Abstract:
In order to minimize the occurrence of sheets of paper being jammed in a conveyance path within a paper sheet handling apparatus, this paper sheet handling apparatus comprises a conveyance path (32) through which sheets of paper are conveyed, a first conveyance member (71) which is disposed on one side of the conveyance path, and a second conveyance member (72) which is disposed to face the first conveyance member with the conveyance path therebetween, wherein: the first conveyance member and the second conveyance member are rotationally driven; the sheets of paper are conveyed by the first conveyance member and the second conveyance member; the first conveyance member is rotationally driven with the outer peripheral surface thereof being in contact with a first surface; and the second conveyance member is rotationally driven in the opposite direction to the rotation direction of the first conveyance member with the outer peripheral surface of the second conveyance member being in contact with a second surface, which is different from the first surface, when the first surface is in contact with the outer peripheral surface of the first conveyance member.
