Abstract:
A device capable of improving convenience for drivers by determining a parking slot to be parkable if a prescribed vicinity of the parking slot is safe, even where the vehicle does not fit within the markings of said parking slot. This parking assistance device determines whether obstacles are present in the prescribed vicinity of the parking slot, even for those parking slots wherein the host vehicle does not fit within the markings thereof, determines the parking slot to be parkable if the prescribed vicinity of the parking slot is safe, and presents the location thereof to the driver.
