Abstract:
A proton beam therapy system 1 is provided with: an irradiation nozzle 25 for irradiating a target 31A with particle beams; a proton beam irradiation control device 41 for controlling the irradiation nozzle 25; a dose monitor 27B for measuring the irradiation dose of the particle beams emitted to the target 31A; a position monitor 27A for measuring the position of the particle beams emitted to the target 31A; and a during-irradiation dose distribution evaluation system 55 for calculating, during irradiation, the dose distribution of the particle beams emitted to the target 31A. This enables medical professionals to quickly and appropriately determine introduction of an intervention, such as cessation of particle therapy and a change in conditions, during particle beam irradiation.
