Title:
PARTICULATE-MATTER PROCESSING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/124088
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention inhibits excessive current from flowing through an electrode. A particulate-matter processing device, wherein a processing unit containing an electrode is provided in the exhaust passage of an internal combustion engine, aggregates particulate matter by producing a potential difference between said electrode and processing unit and is provided with: a power supply that is connected to and applies a voltage to the electrode; a current-detection device that detects current flowing through the electrode; an air-fuel ratio detection device that detects or estimates the air-fuel ratio of exhaust emissions flowing through the exhaust passage; and a voltage control device that makes the voltage applied to the electrode by the power supply lower when the air-fuel ratio detected by the air-fuel ratio detection device is rich than when said air-fuel ratio is stoichiometric or lean.
