Title:
PARTICULATE-MATTER PROCESSING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/124087
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
In the present invention, a particulate-matter processing device (1) is used to estimate the concentration of hydrocarbons in exhaust emissions with high precision. Said particulate-matter processing device (1), wherein a processing unit (3) containing an electrode (5) is provided in the exhaust passage (2) of an internal combustion engine, aggregates particulate matter by producing a potential difference between said electrode (5) and processing unit (3) and is provided with: a power supply (6) that is connected to and applies a voltage to the electrode (5); an insulating part (4) that electrically insulates the processing unit (3) and the exhaust passage (2) from each other; a grounding part (53) that grounds the processing unit (3); a detection device (9) that detects current in the grounding part (53); and an estimation device (7) that estimates the concentration of hydrocarbons in exhaust emissions on the basis of the current detected by the detection device (9) when the power supply (6) applies a voltage to the electrode (5).
