Abstract:
This passenger conveyor step is provided with a tread surface cleat (2) that forms a tread for a passenger to ride on. This passenger conveyor step is also provided with split end cleats (3a) at both ends of the tread surface cleat (2). The split end cleats (3a) are each configured as a movable rigid body. The split end cleat (3a) moves, due to the passenger load, toward a skirt guard (4) that is provided on the outside of both ends of the tread surface cleat (2). The split end cleat (3a) returns to the original position before the movement when the load is released. The split end cleat (3a) is fixed to the tread via a plate spring (6) that generates a force that opposes the force with which the split end cleat (3a) moves toward the skirt guard (4) side due to the passenger load. This passenger conveyor step configured as described above can more reliably prevent entrapment between the edge of the passenger conveyor step and the skirt guard (4).
