Abstract:
Provided is a pattern recognizing device (1) comprising a collation vector extracting unit
(823) for generating an input collation vector composed of a predetermined number
of components exhibiting the features of an input pattern and each indicating 1
or 0, and a collation vector coincidence deciding unit (824) for calculating a
coincidence based on the inner product between each of the dictionary collation vectors
read from a dictionary collation vector storing buffer (813) and the input collation
vector. A collation is made between a dictionary featuring vector, for which
a coincidence larger than a predetermined threshold value is calculated, and
the input collation vector. A dictionary pattern corresponding to the dictionary
collation vector, which is so decided on the basis of the collation result as to
coincide with the input collation vector, is read from a dictionary data (811)
and is outputted.
