Abstract:
Provided are a novel ghrelin secretion promoter, a pharmaceutical composition for promoting appetite, a pharmaceutical composition for promoting growth hormone secretion, and a method for promoting appetite and/or promoting growth hormone secretion. Specifically, provided are a ghrelin secretion promoter having as an active ingredient a 2-20 amino acid-long peptide having the amino acid sequence SX (X represents an amino acid residue selected from V, L, I, M, F, W, Y, S, T, N, K, R, and H), a pharmaceutical composition for promoting appetite, a pharmaceutical composition for promoting growth hormone secretion, and a method for promoting appetite and/or promoting growth hormone secretion.
