Abstract:
Provided is a permanent magnet for a motor which, when used in a three-phase motor driven by a 120° rectangular wave energization method, is able to reduce torque ripple in this three-phase motor. In this cylindrical permanent magnet 1 for a motor, which is used in a three-phase motor driven by a 120° rectangular wave energization method, N poles and S poles are magnetized alternately in the circumferential direction of the permanent magnet 1, multiple gate marks 1e are formed in a circle on one end surface 1c of the permanent magnet 1 in the axial direction of the permanent magnet 1. When viewed from the axial direction, and the boundaries between the N poles and the S poles in the circumferential direction are defined as magnetic pole boundaries 1a and the centers of the N poles and the centers of the S poles in the circumferential direction are defined as magnetic pole centers 1b, the circumferential-direction centers of the gate marks 1e adjacent to each other in the circumferential direction are arranged between the magnetic pole boundaries 1a and the magnetic pole centers 1b in the circumferential direction, when viewed from the axial direction.
