Abstract:
Provided is a phenolic hydroxyl group-containing compound which exhibits excellent solvent solubility, and which is capable of obtaining a composition with which a coating film exhibiting excellent thermal decomposition resistance, alkaline development properties, resolution, and dry etching resistance can be obtained. Specifically provided is a phenolic hydroxyl group-containing compound, i.e. a calixarene compound, which is represented by structural formula (1) (in the formula, A represents a structural unit comprising: a dihydroxynaphthalene or naphthol-derived structure in which an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, an aryl group, an aralkyl group, or a halogen on an aromatic ring may be provided with a substituent; and a methylene group in which one hydrogen atom may be an alkyl group or an aryl group), and has a total repetition number (p) obtained by combining the dihydroxynaphthalene and the naphthol of an integer in the range of 2-10.
