Abstract:
This phospha-rhodol compound represented by general formula (1) or a salt thereof has an absorption peak wavelength and a fluorescence peak wavelength, which change in accordance with the polarity of a solvent, while having an absorption peak and a fluorescence peak in a long wavelength range. Namely, this phospha-rhodol compound represented by general formula (1) or a salt thereof has solvatochromic characteristics. (In the formula, R1 and R2 may be the same or different, and each represents a hydrogen atom, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, or a substituted or unsubstituted (hetero)aryl group; R3 represents a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkenyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkynyl group, or a substituted or unsubstituted (hetero)aryl group; R4-R7 may be the same or different, and each represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, or a sulfonic acid group; R1 and R4, and R2 and R6 may respectively combine with each other to constitute a substituted or unsubstituted alkylene group; and R8 represents a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group.)
