Abstract:
To provide a phosphor having a high light emission intensity, even if combined with an LED with a wavelength of 470 nm or less, and being chemically and thermally stable.
The phosphor according to the present invention comprises an inorganic crystal containing a metallic element M and a nonmetallic element X and represented by MnXn+1 [n being a numerical value of 3-52 inclusive], an inorganic crystal having the same crystalline structure, or an inorganic compound wherein element A [A being one or more kinds of elements selected from among Mn, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Tb, Dy and Yb] is solid-dissolved in an inorganic crystal that is a solid solution thereof. M comprises at least Al and Si optionally together with an element L [L being a metallic element other than Al and Si] and X comprises at least N and, if required, O optionally together with an element Z [Z being a nonmetallic element other than N and O].
