Abstract:
A photonic device, a crossed waveguide, a waveguide layer and a manufacturing method therefor. A flat sublayer (11) is provided under a first waveguide (12) and a second waveguide (13) intersecting the first waveguide (12), so that during the transmission of light in a waveguide layer, energy is mainly concentrated on the flat sublayer (11), and loss is mainly caused in the flat sublayer (11); the first waveguide (12) and the second waveguide (13) are both ridge waveguides; moreover, the loss of the ridge waveguides is small, and the volume of the flat sublayer (11) is larger than those of the ridge waveguides, such that the loss of the flat sublayer (11) and the loss of the ridge waveguides are reduced. Thus, the problem in the related art of fast loss of ridge waveguides is solved.
