Title:
PHOTOVOLTAIC DEVICE AND HYDROGEN GENERATING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/102118
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A photovoltaic device that can generate electromotive force that is stable over time with few constituent elements and a hydrogen generating device that uses that photovoltaic device are achieved. A photovoltaic device (10) is formed from a photovoltaic element (100), which is formed from only a p-type semiconductor layer (110p) and an n-type semiconductor layer (110n), and interface layers (200, 300). The interface layer (200) is formed by a titanium oxide film whereon an insulating property reduction treatment has been carried out by doping with a metal such as niobium and deoxygenation. Thus, the interface layer (200) has conductivity and permeability for visible light. A water tank (12) is filled with an aqueous solution (13) of a sodium carbonate solution, and the photovoltaic device (10) is immersed in this solution (13).
