Abstract:
Provided are: a novel phthalocyanine compound which has intense absorption in a near-infrared region, while having extremely low absorption in the visible light region, and which exhibits high durability and good solubility in organic solvents and resins; a method for producing this phthalocyanine compound; an intermediate of this phthalocyanine compound; and a use of this phthalocyanine compound. A phthalocyanine compound which is represented by general formula (1). (In formula (1), each R represents an alkyl group or an aryl group; each X represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or an alkyl group, and X moieties may combine with each other to form an aromatic ring; M represents two hydrogen atoms, a divalent metal, or a trivalent or tetravalent metal derivative; and each n represents an integer of 3-6.)
