Abstract:
A pixel structure and a liquid crystal display having the pixel structure. The pixel structure (80) is provided on an array substrate (30) and is controlled by one or two thin film transistor devices; the pixel structure (80) comprises several convex structures (83), several protruding electrodes (84/85) and a bottom electrode; the protruding electrodes (84/85) are manufactured on the convex structures (83); the bottom electrode is located below the convex structures (83); a horizontal electric field is generated between the protruding electrodes (84/85) manufactured on the convex structures (83); and a lateral horizontal electric field is generated between the bottom electrode and the protruding electrodes (84/85) manufactured on the convex structures (83). By means of the pixel structure and a liquid crystal display having the pixel structure, the purpose of reducing a component of a vertical electric field and increasing a horizontal electric field can be achieved, so as to improve the penetration rate of FFS and IPS modes or a response speed of a liquid crystal, and a standing trend of a positive liquid crystal is further weakened.
