Abstract:
Disclosed is a plasma display panel (1) which comprises a front plate (2) and a back plate (10) that is arranged so as to face the front plate (2). The front plate (2) has a display electrode (6), a dielectric layer (8) that covers the display electrode (6), and a protective layer (9) that covers the dielectric layer (8). The protective layer (9) has a base layer (91) that is formed on the dielectric layer (8) and agglomerated particles (92) wherein a plurality of crystal particles (92a) of a metal oxide are agglomerated together, said agglomerated particles (92) being dispersed throughout the base layer (91). The base layer (91) contains MgO, Si and Ge. The Si concentration in the base layer (91) is 10-100 ppm (inclusive), and the Ge concentration in the base layer (91) is 100-5,000 ppm (inclusive).
