Title:
PLASMA GUIDE WIRE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2019/003382
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention pertains to a plasma guide wire (10) having improved operability at the distal end side. The guide wire (10) has a core shaft (22). A chip (26) is joined to the distal end of the core shaft (22). A coil (24) joined to the chip (26) and the core shaft (22) is disposed around the core shaft (22). A first insulating resin tube (31) is disposed around the coil (24). The tube (31) reaches a rear region (X) of the coil (24). The rear end of the first insulating resin tube (31) is joined to a second insulating resin tube (32) that is harder than the first insulating resin tube (31). The rear region (X) is located between the coil (24) and the hard tube (32), and has low bending rigidity. Therefore, when the guide wire (10) is pushed towards the distal end, the rear region (X) is deflected, causing deterioration of operability. The present invention solves this problem by providing a third insulating tube (33) to the rear region (X). In a percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty, plasma is produced by high-frequency current flowing between the chip (26) and another electrode. The plasma destroys an occluded site in a blood vessel.
