Description:
DESCRIPTION

PLASTIC MONO-BLOCK POCKET FILTER FRAME

Technical Field

The invention is concerning a mono-block frame to be used for supporting the pocket filters (bag filters ) used at the ventilation and air conditioning stations , and in order to make these filters place in their slots in the stations tighter and more securely .

That subj ect of the invention is the innovation of the frames (cassettes ) that are extending the useful life of the filters used in the industry and in the stations ; and that are used for fixing and attaching the filters serving as a means for grasping the dirt, dust and unwanted particulars , and cleaning the air .

The bags and the other filters generally used in the stations are required to hold the below given qualifications :

• High reliability and soundness .

• Warranty of easy maintenance • Self-extinguishing

• Low pressure loss , high efficiency

• Impermeability

The pocket filters , in addition to their providing all the above mentioned features , are preferable at the stations for their decreasing the difference pressure and for their being an economical alternative for an efficient air filtering by widening the surface area . Because of these reasons mentioned, it is necessary to use mono-block frames in order

to provide a more secure and tighter fixing of the pocket filters to be used .

On the other hand, when we examine the factors that have effects on the useful life of the filters used, it can be seen that this depends to the environment which the filter is used in (dust in the air, percentage of relative humidity, etc . ) , to the diameter of the particles grasped, to the air flow passing through the filter, and the necessary air volume in unit time . In addition these factors , another important factor is the external frame that the filters are attached to .

Thus , it is obvious that the plastic mono-block pocket filter frame, which is the subj ect of the new invention, has an important impact on the improving of the efficiency of the filtration process . The frame, whose main purpose is to support the pocket filters , at the same time undertakes the basic function of extending the useful life of the filter .

Explanation of the Figures

The plastic mono-block pocket filter frame consists of the below mentioned parts , which are shown on the figures :

Detailed Explanation of The Figures and The Content of The Invention

The invention, that brings an innovation to the pocket filter frames used in the industry, consists of two cages ( 1 ) . One of the cages is the lower ( Ia) and the other is upper ( Ib) cover frame . The cages are attached to each other from the lock points ( 3a, 5a) and form the mono-block structure ( 1 ) . It may also be possible to attach these two structures ( Ia, Ib) to each other by using clamps , hooks , or other attaching methods instead of locks .

At the inner part of the lower cover frame there are laths

(pocket compartment supports ) ( 3b) . The number of these laths may change from 1 to 11. At the upper cover frame , an interval part ( Pocket compartment support ribbon) ( 5c ) takes place which are connecting and assembling the laths (5b) taking place in the frame and that are parallel to each other . The thickness of that interval compartment may be same or different with the laths .

The said upper and lower cover frames forms the mono-block structure ( 1 ) by getting through each other and by locking at lock points ( 3a, 5a) . The wall thickness of the frame of that structure is between 20-30 mm. The corners are completely closed and it is impermeable .

For the manufacturing of the mono-block pocket filter frames , any type of plastic (polystyrene ) raw material may be used . The dimensions of the frames may differ according to the request and field of use . The production is generally made at three different dimensions (580-592 ) x (280-305 ) mm; ( 580- 592 ) x 480-505 ) ; ( 580-592 ) x ( 585-605 ) . However, it shall be considered that the modifying of the concerned dimensions takes place within the preserving scope of the invention .

Usage

The laths ( 3b) at the mono-block frame and shown in the figures are used as a support for the pocket filters . The ends of the pocket filters placed between the said laths are slipped in the mono-block frame by being attached to the pocket compartments ( 3b) , and by covering them with upper cover frame ( Ib) , and by locking from lock points ( 3a, 5a) . Since there is a number of 1 to 11 laths , and since there is one pocket filter between two laths , a filter capacity of 2 to 22 may be obtained .

State of Art

At the state of art, frames are being used for the pocket (bag) filters . These frames may be manufactured from galvanize or plastic .

The frames manufactured from galvanized sheet iron holds serious disadvantages in the sense of raw material , when compared with plastic . For instance, as the relative humidity percentage of the environment, that the filter is used, increases , the rusting potential of the frame increases . No doubt that such a situation will decrease the efficiency of the filtration, and will decrease the useful life of the

filter . Additionally, using galvanized sheet iron causes various disadvantages . Since it is necessary to terminate the filter frame by burning, after its useful life is completed, the galvanized sheet iron shall be decomposed before that operation . Otherwise the toxic gases that will appear as a result of the burning process would cause a serious pollution . Additionally, the process of decomposition causes a different process and an extra cost .

The plastic pocket filters do not have any disadvantages as the ones mentioned above; however at the state of the art no mono-block plastic frames have been found which are identical with the content of the present invention .

The known pocket filters have many parts . Because of the reason that these parts are attached to each other with "L" connections , the possibility of leakage is high . Under these conditions , the providing of a leak-proof structure causes serious costs and difficulties . Meanwhile, the air entering from the corners , the dust entering into the system and the other particles wipe away the purpose of filtration . Thus the efficiency of filtration decreases at serious levels .

Another disadvantage of the plastic frames having many parts is the limited working conditions . As a matter of fact , even if type of frames are tied and attached from the corners , at the presence of high pressure and at flow rates above certain limits , they may break off from their connection points . That causes serious risks in the sense of reliability and soundness .

Features of the Invention

According to the multi parted/attachable and galvanized/plastic frames used at the state of the art, the placing of the filter pockets between the laths ( 3b) and the plastic pocket filter frame ( 1 ) having a mono-block structure and that becomes ready to use by the closing of the upper cover ( Ib) :

It differs from it' s precedents, because it' s sound and impermeable structure as a result of it' s mono-block structure and having no connection parts , it' s not moving towards any directions during the using phrase because of it' s rigid structure , its providing easy termination without necessitating a decomposition process after the completing of its useful life because of its raw material , it' s not necessitating any additional skilled personnel because of it' s easy mounting and maintenance and it' s not forming any toxic gases during the termination process and it' s holding all these features together .
