A pneumatic tire, in which one of hydroplaning resistance and wear resistance can at least be maintained while the other can be enhanced and rolling resistance can be reduced, includes, in a tread portion, a pair of circumferential main grooves (12,14) and a land portion (13) provided between the pair of circumferential main grooves (12,14) and extending in the tire circumferential direction. The land portion (13) includes a bulging portion (44) bulging in a second arc shape (R2)in a tire radial direction as a sectional outline of a tread surface of the land portion and chamfered portions (48,50) connected to the bulging portion (44) and extending straight toward respective groove walls of the circumferential main grooves (12,14). A portion of the bulging portion (44) bulges in the tire radial direction with respect to a virtual tread profile line (40) which is determined by a first arc shape (Rl) in a sectional shape of the tread portion. A maximum bulging amount (H) is 0.1 to 0.8 mm. The virtual tread profile line (40) extends across the chamfered portions.
