Abstract:
Provided is a pneumatic tire achieving both steering stability on a dry road surface and shock-burst resistance. At least one carcass layer 13 is provided to span between a pair of bead portions 10 arranged on the inside in the tire radial direction of a pair of side wall portions 8 provided on both sides of a tread portion 2 extending in the circumferential direction of the tire and forming an annular shape. The carcass layer 13 is composed of carcass cords comprising organic fiber cords obtained by twisting filament bundles of organic fiber together. The carcass layer 13 includes turn-up portions 131 in which the end portions of the carcass layer 13 are turned up on the outside in the tire width direction in the pair of bead portions 10. The elongation at break (EB) of the carcass cords satisfies the condition of EB ≥ 15%; the modulus at 300% (MD) of a cap tread rubber compound in the tread portion 2 satisfies the condition of 4 MPa ≤ MD ≤ 13 MPa; and the elongation at break (EB) and the modulus at 300% (MD) satisfy the condition of 600 ≤ 40 × MD + 20 × EB ≤ 1300.
