Abstract:
This polarizing film has a transparent resin layer on at least one surface of a polarizer containing a polyvinyl alcohol resin, the transparent resin layer having a thickness of 0.2 µm or greater and being formed from a formation material containing a polyvinyl alcohol resin having a degree of saponification of 96 mol% or greater, and the combined total content of sodium acetate and potassium acetate included in the transparent resin layer being less than 1 wt%. The polarizing film has crack-resistant properties, and degradation of the optical characteristics thereof in heating and humidification testing can be minimized.
