Abstract:
The present invention provides: a polyhydric hydroxy resin which enables the achievement of a cured product that is excellent in terms of heat resistance, low thermal expansion properties, moisture resistance and the like, and which is useful in applications such as lamination, molding, cast molding and bonding; and an epoxy resin of this polyhydric hydroxy resin. A polyhydric hydroxy resin which is represented by general formula (1), wherein A represents a divalent aromatic group and n represents a number from 1 to 10. An epoxy resin which is obtained by reacting this polyhydric hydroxy resin with epichlorohydrin.
