Abstract:
This polymerizable composition for an optical material includes: (A) an allyl carbonate compound that is represented by general formula (1) and includes at least two allyloxy carbonyl groups at a terminus thereof; and (B) a radical polymerization initiator. The radical polymerization initiator (B) includes: (B1) at least one type of peroxy ester radical polymerization initiator that has a radical survival rate of 10%–90% after five hours at 50°C and has an alkyl group that has at least five carbon atoms and includes a tertiary carbon atom that is directly linked to an O-O bond; and (B2) at least one type of radical polymerization initiator selected from the group that consists of peroxy ester radical polymerization initiators, peroxy ketal radical polymerization initiators, and peroxy monocarbonate radical polymerization initiators that have a radical survival rate of 10%–90% after five hours at 95°C.
