Abstract:
A periphery recognition device (4) is provided with a detecting unit (41) and an inference unit (42). The detecting unit is configured to detect an abnormality in at least third detectors from among first detectors (12, 15), second detectors (14, 17), and third detectors (13, 16). The inference unit is configured in such a way that if the detecting unit has detected an abnormality in the third detectors, the inference unit performs speed control, which is control of the traveling speed of a vehicle, and uses information obtained from at least one of the first detectors and the second detectors to infer whether or not an object is present in a third region.
