Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide: a polyphenylene ether pellet which has excellent characteristics such as mechanical strength and can be obtained by melt molding even when another resin component is added thereto; and a method for producing said polyphenylene ether pellet. The present invention relates to a polyphenylene ether pellet characterized by having a dislocation structure connected by an ortho-position bond in a repeating unit continuous with para-position bonds, wherein the polyphenylene ether pellet includes a polyphenylene ether component in which the amount of the dislocation structure with respect to all the polyphenylene ether structural units is at least 0.1 mol%, and the content of the polyphenylene ether component is at least 90 mass% with respect to all the components.
