Abstract:

Disclosed is a polyvinyl acetal resin composition comprising a polyvinyl acetal resin (A) and a polyvinyl acetal resin (B) which is immiscible in the polyvinyl acetal resin (A). The polyvinyl acetal resin composition is produced by acetalizing a polyvinyl alcohol mixture of at least two polyvinyl alcohols having different saponification degrees from each other, wherein the polyvinyl alcohol mixture contains two main polyvinyl alcohols. In the polyvinyl acetal resin composition, the two main polyvinyl alcohols fulfill the relationship represented by the following formula: |X-Y| ≥ 10 (wherein X and Y respectively represent the saponification degrees of the polyvinyl alcohols), and also fulfill the relationship represented by the following formula: M/N ≤ 3 (wherein M represents the polymerization degree of one polyvinyl alcohol having a higher polymerization degree; and N represents the polymerization degree of the other polyvinyl alcohol). The polyvinyl acetal resin composition has a sea-island structure formed by a phase composed of the polyvinyl acetal resin (A) and a phase composed of the polyvinyl acetal resin (B).
