Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a highly reactive porous honeycomb heat storage structure that has an excellent diffusion property with respect to a reactive medium such as water, is able to suppress the generation of localized heat, and is able to store and release heat quickly. [Solution] A heat storage structure 1 equipped with: a honeycomb structure 20 having porous partition walls 23, which partition and form multiple cells 22 extending from one end surface 21a to the other end surface 21b, and through the interior of which a liquid can flow; and heat storage parts 25, which are formed such that at least a portion of the cells 22 is filled with a heat storage material 24 that stores heat and releases heat by means of a reversible chemical reaction with the liquid. The area ratio of the heat storage parts 25 with respect to the cross-sectional area of a honeycomb cross section orthogonal to the axial direction of the honeycomb structure 20 is in a range of 60%–90%.
