Abstract:
In this portable machine position estimation system, an in-vehicle system is provided with: a transmitter/receiver (12X); a plurality of listening machines (12A, 12B, 12C); and a position estimation unit (11). The position estimation unit identifies a first propagation time, which is the propagation time of a wireless signal from the transmitter/receiver to a portable machine, on the basis of a roundtrip time, which is the time from transmission of a response request signal by the transmitter/receiver until the transmitter/receiver receives a response signal from the portable machine. The position estimation unit identifies a second propagation time, which is the propagation time of a wireless signal from the portable machine to the listening machines, on the basis of: the roundtrip time; and a signal reception interval which is the time from reception of the response request signal by the listening machines until reception of the response signal.
