Abstract:
Disclosed is a positive electrode for a lithium secondary battery, which comprises a positive electrode current collector and an electrically conductive layer and an active material layer both arranged on the surface of the positive electrode current collector.  The electrically conductive layer contains, as a binder, at least one water-insoluble polymer that is soluble in an organic solvent.  The active material layer contains, as a binder, at least one water-soluble polymer and/or at least one water-dispersible polymer that is soluble or dispersible in water.  The ratio of the mass (B) of the binder per unit area in the active material layer to the mass (A) of the binder per unit area in the electrically conductive layer (i.e., B/A ratio) falls within the range from 0.06 to 0.35 inclusive.
