Title:
POSITIVE PRESSURE CHAMBER FOR EXTREMITIES
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2008/044400
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A positive pressure chamber for treating extremities, used for treating a tumor and edema of extremities, for rehabilitation, for preventing a deep vein thrombus, for relieving pain of extremities, and for improving the skin quality of extremities. The positive pressure chamber has a bag-like member (5) formed so that spaces (4) each formed between an outer sheet member (2) and an inner sheet member (3) are filled with fluid and inflated. When the spaces (4) are filled with the fluid, the entire part of at least one of the extremities that is covered by the inner sheet members (3) is held in a positive pressure condition, and the forward endof the extremity is allowed to move in the fluid, which is contained in the spaces (4), independently of the other portions of the extremity. An inner sheet member (3) has an inlet (21) for introducing the fluid contained in the space (4) and/or the other fluid from the extremity's forward end side. The fluid introduced from the inlet (21) flows along a gap between the outer periphery of the extremity and the inner sheet members (3), flowing in the direction (β) leaving away from the extremity's forward end.
