Description:
Poultry floor mat

The subject of the invention is a poultry floor mat in particular for hen cages.

There are known mats for lining the cages where poultry is farmed, which have the form of flat rectangular mats covered with stiff hair for the poultry to walk on.

Thanks to this solution poultry droppings fall in between the hairs and the hens do not walk on the dirty floor mat. Moreover the eggs that are laid remain on the hair and are not soiled with the droppings.

Chinese patent application CN1Q422197 presents a mesh pillow for poultry cages. The invention discloses a pillow made of mesh for a poultry cage. The mesh pillow for poultry cages is a rectangular plate made of plastic by injection moulding and the dimensions of the rectangular plate match the size of the bottom steel mesh of the hen cage. The mesh pillow for poultry cages is characteristic in that the mesh holes formed by longitudinal and transversely stepped ribs are formed on the top surface that comes into contact with the hens, from the bottom mesh lining, the longitudinal ribs have round edges and are protruding, while the transverse ribs are flat, straight and sunk in, moreover the transverse and longitudinal ribs are shifted in relation to each other. The mesh pillow for poultry cages is made of plastic by injection moulding and is stable. The mesh pillow for poultry cages has the advantage that its structure is simple, it is comfortable to use and the survival of hens is improved while the egg breaking rate is lower.

Chinese patent application CN 103583401 presents ameshpad, which prevents eggs from breaking. The invention relates to a net pad which is used for cage raising of poultry and capable of preventing eggs from being broken and a using method thereof. The net pad capable of preventing the eggs from being broken comprises a net pad body, wherein the size of the net pad body is matched with the size of the bottom of a poultry raising cage, honeycomb through holes are evenly distributed in the surface of the net pad body, and fixing rings used for fixing the net pad body are arranged on the circumference of the net pad body. The net pad is placed in the poultry raising cage when used, and the eggs can roll down along the net pad. The net pad which is used for cage raising of the poultry and capable of preventing the eggs from being broken is simple in structure, low in cost, convenient to use, and capable of preventing the eggs from being in direct contact with the cage, reducing the breakage rate of the eggs and further improving the economic benefit brought by poultry raising.

US patent US5159896 discloses a pad for poultry cages.

US patent US6884302 discloses a device for washing mats in poultry cages. A washer and method for cleaning poultry pads or similar items includes a tub which rotates around a horizontal axis. The tub is mounted on a wheeled frame for towing by a car, tractor or other vehicle. Dirty, soiled pads are placed in the tub on-site and the door is then secured. As the tub rotates during its washing cycle the pads are sprayed by water jets positioned along the interior central water conduit Water collected in a drain is discharged at each revolution through an open gate valve located on the bottom of the drain. Baffles inside the tub agitate the pads and water, thus improving the cleaning ability of the washer.

The invention solves the problem of collecting eggs from mats, which is particularly difficult in the case of battery cages.

The floor mat for poultry according to the invention comprising a full, essentially rectangular flat base and stiff hair fixed vertically to the base is characteristic in that the length of the hair is varied and shortens towards at least one side of the base.

Favourably, the hair has a maximum length of 40 mm and shortens towards the side to the maximum length of 0 mm.

Favourably, the hair is the longest in the middle part of the mat and shortens towards two sides of the base.

Favourably, the base is openwork.

The applied solution of the varied length of hair on the mat makes the laid egg roll from under the hen and roll down to the edge of the mat from where it can be easily taken out.

Embodiments of the invention are presented in the drawings where Fig. 1 presents the mat in isometric projection, where the hair shortens towards two opposite sides.

The floor mat for poultry comprises a flat base and stiff hair fixed to the base. The length of the hair 2 is a maximum of 4 cm and shortens towards the side to the length of a maximum of 0 mm. The hair 2 is the longest in the middle part of the mat and shortens towards two sides of the base 1.

Favourably the base is openwork as it is then easy to wash the droppings and other dirt off the mat The mat may be made of plastic or other material that can ensure stiffness of the hair.

Fig. 2 presents the side view of the mat where the varied length of the hair can be seen as well as the shortening of the hair length towards the edges of the mat

Fig. 3 presents a section of the mat which shows the layout of the hair 2 on the openwork base 1.

The presented embodiment does not exhaust all possibilities of its application.
