Title:
POWER CONVERSION DEVICE FOR ELECTRIC LOCOMOTIVE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2015/060000
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An isolation transformer in the power conversion device of an embodiment used for an electric locomotive receives the supply of a high-voltage AC power from an AC feeder and converts the high voltage to a low voltage, thereby outputting a low voltage AC power. An AC/DC converter receives the low voltage AC power and converts AC to DC, thereby outputting the DC to an inverter. Meanwhile, a PWM control unit outputs a PWM control signal to the inverter, said PWM control signal having a predetermined pattern for removing a specific harmonic component from the output of the inverter or attenuating the specific harmonic component to a predetermined level or less. A voltage control unit controls the output DC voltage of the AC/DC converter. As a result, the inverter receives the output signal of the AC/DC converter, converts DC to AC under the control of the voltage control unit, and supplies the AC to a load, so that the power conversion device for the electric locomotive, including an APU circuit, can be reduced in size.
