Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a power generation function-equipped secondary battery with which stable power generation can be realized. [Solution] A power generation function-equipped secondary battery 100 utilizing a thermoelectric element 1, wherein the power generation function-equipped secondary battery is characterized by comprising: the thermoelectric element 1 that contacts a heat medium 3 exhibiting a temperature equal to or greater than that of outside air, and that does not require a temperature difference between electrodes; and a secondary battery 2 that is electrically connected to the thermoelectric element 1. The power generation function-equipped secondary battery is also characterized in that the thermoelectric element 1 includes a pair of electrodes 11, 12 having mutually different work functions. For example, the thermoelectric element 1 is characterized by comprising an intermediate portion that is provided between the pair of electrodes 11, 12 and that includes a non-conductor layer containing fine particles, the non-conductor layer supporting the pair of electrodes 11, 12.
