Abstract:
The present invention relates to a power-saving driver circuit for a motor, having power factor improvement which can charge a capacitor for power factor improvement by using a flyback voltage accumulated in coils of the motor, and can save the power by using a discharging voltage of the capacitor in a power-saving mode so as to operate the motor. The driver circuit of the present invention comprises: a motor (20); a power factor compensation capacitor (C); a first switching element (S1) for operating the motor in a positive sinusoidal wave period of the input power; a diode (D5) for charging the power factor compensation capacitor when the first switching element is off; a second switching element (S2) for operating the motor in a negative sinusoidal wave period of the input power; a diode (D6) for charging the power factor compensation capacitor (C) when the second switching element is off; a fourth switching element (S3) for operating the motor in the positive period of the input power in the power-saving mode by the discharging current of the power factor compensation capacitor (C); a third switching element (S4) for operating the motor in the negative period of the input power in the power-saving mode by the discharging current of the power factor compensation capacitor (C); and a control unit for operating the motor in the normal mode by controlling the first and second switching elements and operating the motor in the power-saving mode by controlling the third and fourth switching elements when a charging voltage of the capacitor approaches a predetermined set value.
