Abstract:
A sodium-sulfur battery belongs to each of a plurality of operation units. The operation units are a unit of connecting and releasing the sodium-sulfur battery to and from a power system in a parallel fashion. A first power consuming body and a second power consuming body are electrically connected to the power system. The first power consuming body belongs to each of the operation units, but the second power consuming body does not belong to the operation units. One of the first and second power consuming bodies may be omitted. Ranks are assigned to the respective operation units. The ranks become higher as the state of charge of the sodium-sulfur battery belonging to the operation units increases. When a stand-alone operation is started, a single operation unit with the highest rank is selected and the sodium-sulfur battery that is operated and belongs to the operation units is paralleled in to the power system.
