Abstract:
A power supply device according to the present invention is provided with an input capacitor, a step-down DC/DC converter, a step-down control unit, a power storage capacitor, a step-up DC/DC converter, and a step-up control unit. The step-down DC/DC converter steps down the input voltage of the input capacitor. The step-down control unit initiates the step-down when a first input criterion is met and stops the step-down when a second input criterion is not met. The power storage capacitor has a large capacity and stores the charge output by the step-down DC/DC converter. The step-up DC/DC converter steps up the voltage from the storage voltage to the output voltage and outputs the power. The step-up control unit initiates the step-up when a start criterion is met and stops the step-up when a maintenance criterion is not met. The storage voltage which meets the start criterion is greater than the storage voltage which meets the maintenance criterion.
