Title:
POWER SUPPLY UNIT FOR GENERATING A LOW DIRECT CURRENT VOLTAGE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO2006087275
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The invention relates to a power supply unit, which is used to generate a low direct current voltage (UDCL) from a high alternating current voltage (UAC). Said unit comprises a rectifier (7) and a series connection consisting of a switching element (12) and an accumulator element (13). Energy can be supplied to the accumulator element (13) via the switching element (12). A control unit (17) controls the activation and deactivation of the accumulator element (13) according to the charged condition of the latter. A post-processing unit (18) that is connected in parallel to the accumulator element (13) generates the low direct current voltage (UDCL) from the energy that can be withdrawn from the accumulator element (13). The power supply unit has a low power loss. The latter occurs predominantly in the switching element, which according to the invention only carries current when required.
