Abstract:
A power transmission device is provided with a continuously variable transmission, wherein an input cone connected to an input shaft and an output cone connected to an output shaft are disposed in opposite directions to one another, and a ring is pinched with a pinching force, which increases as the torque that acts on the output shaft increases, according to a pinching force adjustment mechanism that converts the torque that acts on the output shaft into a force in the direction of the output shaft. When the ring position is at the maximum diameter of an output member, which is the large diameter end of the output cone, if the output torque (Tout) that acts on the output shaft is at or above a threshold value (Tref)(S120), the ring is made to slide to the small-diameter side of the output cone (S130, S140).
