Abstract:
A power transmitting device includes a power transmitting coil that forms a magnetic field when an AC voltage is applied thereto and transmits electric power in a non-contact manner to a power receiving coil through the magnetic field, a foreign object detector, a magnetic field detector, and a control device that receives information about a result of detection of a foreign object by the foreign object detector and information about a result of detection of the magnetic field by the magnetic field detector. The control device determines whether there is a foreign object or not based on the result of the detection of a foreign object performed by the foreign object detector during a timing period (T1) when the strength of the magnetic field is equal to or lower than a prescribed value (Vth).
