Abstract:
A pre-chamber type internal combustion engine that comprises a main chamber, a pre-chamber, and a connection passage. The main chamber is demarcated into a cylinder head, a cylinder, and pistons. The pre-chamber protrudes from the cylinder head towards the main chamber and is provided separated from the main chamber. Pre-combustion occurs in this pre-chamber prior to combustion in the main chamber. The connection passage connects the main chamber and the pre-chamber and has an injection port that injects pre-combustion flames into the main chamber. The injection port is configured so as to guide flames in the direction of rotation for a swirling flow generated inside the main chamber.
