Abstract:

A precision improving device for three dimensional topographical data (10) which removes the noise generated by water areas, is provided with a water area designation unit (13) which designates the range of a single arbitrary water area; a feature extraction unit (14) which extracts feature amounts inside a single arbitrary water area by extracting feature amounts that indicate distribution features of height for each portion of the three dimensional topographical data; a division unit (15) which compares the feature amounts inside the water area with the feature amounts of each point in the three dimensional topographical data and divides the feature amounts into water area candidates and non-water areas; a water area detection unit (16) which detects water areas from the candidate water areas; and a level surface generation unit (17) which generates a corrected level surface for the water area based on the elevation of the non-water areas adjoining and surrounding each detected water area and replaces the aforementioned water area detected by the water area detection unit (16) with the corrected water area.
